Remote Learning Continues after Spring Break on March 30

Governor Jared Polis signed an executive order March 18, 2020, suspending in-person

learning in public and private schools across the state from March 23, 2020, to April 17,

2020. The Gilpin County School building will be closed for three weeks after Spring

Break in an effort to prevent the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19). Remote distance learning may be extended beyond April 16, 2020.

The Gilpin County School building will be closed March 30 through April 16, 2020. As of March 30, students and staff will return to classes on Monday, April 20, 2020, at 8 a.m. Governor Polis may extend this school building closure time.

All Extracurricular Activities Cancelled

The suspension of all after-school activities, athletics, events, and performances will remain suspended through April 18, 2020. Governor Polis may extend this school activity suspension time.

Due to the Order barring no more than 10 people gathering, Prom has also been canceled.  If you have any alternative ideas or any questions, please contact Alexis Donaldson adonaldon@gilpin.k12.co.us

Governor Polis has directed superintendents to plan an alternative to the traditional high school graduation and commencement exercise. Contact Alexis Donaldson adonaldon@gilpin.k12.co.us with alternative suggestions for how we can provide commencement for our high school seniors.
